Rakesh Chaurasia

Rakesh Chaurasia is an Indian classical flautist, who plays the Bansuri,the Indian classical flute. He is the nephew and disciple of the legendary flute maestro Pt.Hariprasad Chaurasia. He’s been continuing the rich legacy of the Chaurasia Tradition by being adept at both the Hindustani Classical Form as well as other music Formats like Jazz/,Fusion to name a few.

Apart from carving a niche for himself as a sought after Soloist he’s also collaborated  with many musicians of repute like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Shri Pankaj Udhas,Béla Fleck, Edgar meyer, Marco Salaun,Pt. Subhankar Banerjee,Vid.Shashank Subramanyam,Vid Ganesh and Kumaresh,Vid. Jayanthi Kumaresh,Vid Patri Satish Kumar,etc.

His Fusion Album RAF-Rakesh and Friends created ripples in the Indian Music Arena for its beautiful representation of traditional ragas presented in a new age form! The usage of multiple instruments like the Guitar,Keyboard,drums along with the traditional Bansuri and Tabla was very well received resulting in the album breaking the record charts in no time!
